What is a Montessori school?

A Montessori school follows a philosophy of teaching that focuses on developing the natural interests of each child, rather than just teaching all children the same curriculum in a formal classroom setting.

The Montessori approach to learning is most commonly used in early childhood schools, but is also used occasionally in secondary education. Montessori schools are focused on fostering the interests of each child before they go to preschool.

Montessori education for children from 18 months to 6 years old

Our school has two Toddler classrooms and two Primary classrooms. Toddler class is for 18 months to 3 years old. Primary class is for 3 to 6 years old, and includes Nursery, Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Grade. The Primary class curriculum contemplates a three year cycle, and we recommend that your child to remain in the same Primary classroom for three consecutive years. There are after-school programs offered throughout the school year.

Our Montessori curriculum is tailored to today's children

Children today are constantly exposed to electronics. While this constant exposure to electronic devices has sharpened many skills such as multitasking and improved peripheral vision, it is also diminishing interaction with others, their sense of empathy and their caring for nature. Here at CMS, we value this new generation of children and provide them with long hours of face-to-face interaction with adults and other children and ample opportunity for movement. We at CMS model proper behavior in a positive way.
