Countryside Montessori School was established by Sharon Adar Fitoussi who was convinced immediately that the Montessori Philosophy was the most natural way for a child to learn. CMS opened its doors in 1998 in Manhasset, New York with a Primary classroom of 7 students. We moved to our present location in Great Neck in 2001. We currently have two Primary classrooms and two Toddler classrooms with a total of 75 children of diverse cultural backgrounds.

This present location provides us with an estate-like setting that includes an outdoor playground and opportunities for nature walks. We are located on the lower level of the Lake Success Jewish Center. The center has plenty of parking spaces available. In inclement weather conditions the children play in the upstairs ballroom so that they always have an opportunity for movement.

We believe in keeping parents involved in the educational process

At CMS, your child is always welcomed at your car door by one of our teachers. However, do not let this car door pickup discourage you from visiting. Our school encourages parent visits. Just arrange a time with the school office, so that you can observe your child busy at work and play.
